Rework Book Review

I recently finished reading Rework the book on my Kobo E-Book reader. And I have to say it’s by far the best Startup Book I’ve ever com across. So it’s there TOP on my must read list.

Rework is a very easy to ready & straight forward book written by 37 signals and it’s CEO Jason fried, the guys who gave us basecamp (the online software). It’s very simple, the chapters are well organized and reading the book was great fun. Unlike popular notion of startups & business this book offer a different perspective on startups.

This book talks about why we should not try to raise external money , it talks about hiring minimal people, about allowing people to geo-commte to work (hiring people in different parts of world), it’s about how to be purposefully be a small company but still be extremely successful. Guys at 37 signals definitely walk to the beats of a different drummer. This book has opened my mind to a whole new dimension of thinking about Business & Startups.

Companies like Basecamp & Craigslist make a millions of dollars in revenue yet have only a few staff, offer only a few features (cragislist is still 1995), are privately owned. These companies are Anti-Matter to commonly held notions .

I highly recommend that you read this book if you have any interest in startups & business. This book should be a great reference guide for all people trying to start up there business. You should be able to finish the book overnight or in a couple of days but the information contained within the book is a gold mine. Follow these principles laid out and they can help you save Truck Loads of money over the time. This book will easy pay off many-times it’s price for most people (those who implement it)

This remind me about the beauty of reading book such as Rework. I always think if I am able to change / implement 1 thing , Just One little thing in my life / business, then the book has already paid for itself multiple times over. Amazing !!
